b-cent is a huge Christian resourcing mission and series of events throughout Birmingham. It’s main priority is to communicate the gospel throughout the City and to support the young people, youth leaders, anyone who needs Jesus. B-cent is sponsored so far entirely by the Diocese of Birmingham, and is part of their centenary celebrations for 2005.
The Anglican church has many partners in b-cent including: Soul Survivor; Youth for Christ; Youth Alive; Churches together in England; Birmingham Youth Offending Service; Regeneration Centre; The United Reformed Church; Scripture Union; The Oasis Trust; All the main Christian denominations in Birmingham; Birmingham City Mission
b-cent includes the huge youth event called Reunited, held at St Martins in the Bullring. All Reunited youth events are aimed at Christian young people aged between 13 and 19, people from all denominations in the city, and are designed to be events that Christian young people can bring their friends too. Reunited will be taking to the streets too with a massive event planned for Victoria Square on July 23rd. Known as 23/7 the event includes bands, speakers, DJ’s, break dancers, escapologists and other attractions.
b-scent is their social action project :- hundreds of Christian young people across the city clearing up/cleaning away/doing odd jobs in our communities because they’re passionate about God! B-scent is holding a weekend of social action on 15th to 17th July.
B-cent are also running a new training course for youth leaders - the Bishop's Certificate in Youth ministry. This course gives a solid and strong grounding in the basics of youth work.
